Law of Attraction 101: How it works and how it started for me

I feel like I need to do an introduction to Law of Attraction before I start talking more about the specific techniques on how to manifest your desires.
And the simplest way for me to do that is, to begin with my own personal Law of Attraction story. It’s pretty long though, so you might want to get a cup of coffee and make yourself comfortable before continuing…

I’m so happy to have reached this stage for myself, and I know that my life purpose is to help others improve their lives and become happier. That’s why I feel compelled to share this knowledge with you.

But if you feel like it’s not for you and what I’m saying is a little crazy, I don’t mind. If it’s not for you that’s absolutely fine. You don’t have to read this post right now. Maybe you can save it and come back to it when you’re ready, or maybe it’s just not for you at all.


Personally, I was first exposed to the Law of Attraction about 10 years ago, when the book “The Secret” became popular. I think the documentary also came out around that time, but I never watched it. However, I bought the book and started reading it, but before I even finished, it disappeared. I never found it again. I don’t remember ever taking it with me out of my apartment, but maybe my roommate at the time borrowed it or something. Honestly, I have no idea, it just disappeared and never resurfaced again. So I didn’t even finish reading the book and forgot about it.

I’ve always been a deep and kind of spiritual person… My grandmother is a healer and talks to angels, I always liked to do guided meditations (before I learned how to meditate on my own) and I really enjoy the calming effect yoga has always had on my mind. But my family is not at all religious or spiritual and I’ve never surrounded myself with spiritual people as such. At least not until I went on my yoga teacher training in June 2017. I believe this experience was a big factor in how fast I’ve developed my awareness since and how fast my vibrations began to manifest.

I’ve always been a very introverted person and when I feel something is not how I’d like it to be, I go inside myself and try to discover what is wrong and how to fix it. At 21 when I was sick from stress an anxiety and not able to work, I began exercising and searching for a way to become a happier version of myself. I got better on the surface, but inside, I was still disconnected. After a while, I found myself in a very bad relationship that ultimately changed my life. I was so attached to this person even though I knew he was not the right person for me to be with. When it all ended, I was suffering immensely, and that’s when I found Christian Larsson’s “The Optimists Creed”, a poem written in 1912 and appearing in C.D. Larsson’s book “Your Forces and How to Use Them”. When I read the poem, a sense of purpose and calm came over me. I’d never been so inspired in my entire life. Shortly after, I had part of the poem tattooed on my ribs. My tattoo reads:

“Think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud word, but in great deeds.
Live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.”

I came from a place of very low self-esteem. Growing up I almost purposely kept myself in a state of sadness as it was a very safe feeling for me. I’ve always been very strong and good at achieving things, but I was also shy and insecure. A very strange combination. It wasn’t easy for me to make friends when I was younger and I grew up feeling kind of lost and very sad. For many years I struggled with not attracting the right people into my life. At 22, when I read this poem it dawned on me, that to attract the people and situations I want in my life, I have to be the kind of person I want to attract!

So plead to live the rest of my life according to this poem. Without knowing that what I was actually doing was starting to use The Law of Attraction in a positive way to improve my life!

The most important part of the law that you need to understand is: Like attracts like.
You cannot attract anything you’re not in vibrational alignment with.

Another important part is, that only if you stop and feel about it, you can identify where your resistance is. You will have to gently and gradually release your resistant thoughts, and your increasing feeling of relief will be your indicators that you are on the right path. This development can happen very fast, but if your resistance is as deeply grounded in you as it was in me, you can’t just go from feeling depressed to feeling absolute relief and happiness.

At the time, I had no idea that The Law of Attraction works this way. I just continued on with my life without understanding that I was creating my own reality by default. The Law of Attraction doesn’t distinguish between what you desire to happen and what you desire not to happen. Whatever feeling of desire you focus on is what you’re asking for.

So if you’re focused on the feeling of fear that your loved one will leave you for someone else, you’re asking for that exact thing to happen.
If you focus on how much you hate the fear of loneliness, that’s what you’re asking for.
If you’re stressed about money and because you don’t have enough, you’re holding yourself in that reality of now having enough money…

To give a personal example of this, I’ll have to fast forward to this year. In April 2018 I started working as a freelance personal trainer and transitioning from having a fixed salary every month to suddenly being on my own had me really anxious. I was so stressed about money and I didn’t know how I was gonna be able to pay my bills or what I was gonna do if something unforeseen came up!

I always watch YouTube videos when I do cardio and don’t know exactly how or when, but I stumbled across an amazing YouTube channel about the Law of Attraction. I began listening to her videos when I was driving and started implementing the techniques she used to manifest money. Suddenly, I was busier with work than I’d ever been before! I swear, it was like a miraculous increase in clients and money. And it all happened in just 2 months!

Looking back now, I can see how I manifested my move to Dubai, how I manifested struggling with my weight for so many years, how I never succeeding in bikini fitness, how I manifested losing weight easily, how I manifested a potentially beautiful relationship falling apart and so many many other things. It made me extremely curious about how the Law of Attraction really works and that’s when I began to study more intensely and read more books about it. My favorite is definitely “Ask and it is Given” by Esther and Jerry Hicks. I actually bought “The Secret” by Rhonda Bynes again, but still, haven’t finished it. I’ve also been trying to finish “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, but again I’m not yet done. I listened to “Ask and it is given” as an audiobook and currently, I’m listening to more of their material on YouTube and it’s so amazing it sometimes has me in tears. Also, I love Leeor Alexandras YouTube channel and I’ve watched every single one of her videos.

Honestly, when I go into myself and remember the feelings I’ve had about every single important situation in my life, I can with absolute confidence say, that the Law of Attraction has never failed to give me exactly what I was vibrationally asking for. Good and bad.

I know that everything bad in my life has happened so I would become the empathic, compassionate person that I am today. It had to happen to give me the perspective and insights I need to understand other peoples struggles and to help them overcome them.

Every struggle and setback I’ve ever faced has always pushed me to go deeper into myself and discover who I really am inside. What is my life purpose and what do I really dream of achieving in this life. I feel like I’m so much closer to being on the right frequency now than I ever was before, and I know I now have the tools to create the life and the relationships I desire. All the work has been done, and it’s on it’s way me. I feel completely at ease knowing that what’s meant for me will never miss me and it makes it so much easier to detach from what was only meant to evolve me into this understanding.

Remember: Life is supposed to be easy. Life is not supposed to be hard. When it’s hard it’s because we are not on the right vibrational frequency with your desires. Feel where your resistance is and take the necessary steps to release that resistance and you’ll learn how easy life is supposed to be.
