Reflecting on 2017

It’s that time again! Time to reflect on my achievements in 2017 and set new goals for 2018.

I’ve been doing this before New Year every year since 2010 and I highly recommend doing it.

I don’t like to call them New Years Resolutions, as I feel like that’s something you forget about midway through Januay… So I call them my Focus Points.

I usually choose 3-5 Focus Points that are important to me. They have to be absolute musts for me to achieve to improve my life. I write them down but don’t necessarily have a clear pln on how to achieve them. I just get to work and take baby steps towards my goals at the same time as I continue to live my life to the best of my ability. Having them written down give me a sense of direction and at the end of the year, I’ve always achieved almost all of them. You’d be surprised how powerful they are.

Last year I started sharing my goals and ambitions with you here on the blog…

They were as follows:

  1. Continue to work on shaping my body through diet and exercise
  2. Continue to improve and develop professionally
  3. Get back on track financially after my big move in 2016
  4. Become more attractive, improve emotional connection and become better at communicating in relationships (especially romantic relationships)

1: As I’ve been working on self-improvement for so long, I was lucky enough that I just had to continue to work on improving the first two focus points. Little did I know HOW much I would be able to improve on number 1.

I’ve lost quite a bit of weight in the last few months without dieting, without following any specific workout regimen AND I’ve been able to grow my butt in the process ;) What I did to achieve this state is something I will go more into here on the blog later on, but I mentioed a few things in my post from a few days ago.

I feel like I’ve improved on my two major aesthetic goals which are bigger & tigther glutes and an overall leaner body.

2: Professionally, I flew all the way to Florida and became a certified yoga instructor which has been a dream for many years. I started practising more and teaching yoga to my clients, which has been an amazing change to my daily life. Being a yoga teacher is absolutely amazing and I love seeing the positive changes in my clients as well as myself.

Yoga and meditation in general has helped me SO MUCH dealing with some of the hardships I had to face this year. I’m so thankful for everything this experience taught me, and it’s definitely something I will go deeper into one day when the time is right.

3: Financially 2017 started out he worst was possible. I had maxed out ALL my credit cards and my bank refused to help me. I was completely broke. Now, at the end of the year, I’ve paid off almost all of my credit card debt AND bought a car.

4: I rarely talk about my relationships and love life on the blog.

But to give you a quick summary, I’ve decided to never settle for anything less than true love and happiness. And I’m not one of those people who attract that effortlessly. But I work on it. In 2017 I finally accepted what kind of love I need to actually be happy and fulfilled in a relationship. Something I wasn’t ready to admit to myself before.

I feel more attractive and confident because of it and even though it still feels scary, it’s made me more open to share emotions and communicate about feelings. I’m still a work in progress but learned a lot of important lessons this year.
