Your Perfect Day

Remember the last time you had a really shit day? Yup, me too. But don’t you just love those days where you think, wow, today was such a good day?.

We want to work on creating more of these “perfect” days, days where we don’t feel exhausted and burnt out, instead we feel accomplished and satisfied.
So lets have a think about your last “perfect day”, what was different about it? For this blog, we are going to be talking about mid-day, working days.

Did you sleep longer? Were your colleges in a better mood? Did you stick to your diet?

For me, I hate mornings. 5am is just evil and I put up with it for a long time. Until a few of my morning clients when on holiday and I started at 9am. Well I was literally a new person!!

I didn’t hate everyone, I didn’t spend half my wages on overpriced Starbucks coffee then come home and sleep for 3 hours in the afternoon.

So this for me was a motivator to change my “normal” days into “perfect” days. I moved my clients to the evenings. I became more productive. I eat better and went to the gym without smashing 3 scoops of pre-workout.

Now I understand not everyone has the luxury of chosing working hours, and I get that. But what do you have the ability to change? That could change the dynamics of your day.

Could you…

Prepare your meals? Meaning you eat less rubbish during the day and spend less money.

You might not be able to change the attitude of your colleges, but you can change your response to them and chose who you spend time with. If Betty from accounts complains every morning about how shit her life is, then distance yourself.

You hate the commute to work? Well this is Dubai we all dread the crazy driving and traffic jams. You could leave earlier and go to a gym near work, both avoiding traffic and getting a workout done. Leaving time in the evening to get more done or simply relax.

These are just a few examples of how to make your day work for you. Don’t let the day run you and make you exhausted. Don’t listen to this “No days off” “The Grind” BS, its perfectly OK to change things to make your life easier. It does not make you lazy, it means you are human! And a clever one at that 😉

Remember, we only have 1 portion of will power. So if you use it all up in the morning traffic and then the rest listening to Betty whine that her husband never does the dishes, then you’re going to struggle to cope with things the rest of the day. Like eating healthy and working out. So spend it wisely.
