Tired face bc of too many long nights and early mornings recently. But a good coffee always helps me feel better!

I’ve had so many long, busy days recently. Those days that you dread when you go to bed at night, because you know how exhausted you will feel halfway through the day. I don’t want to complain, being busy is good, and working is also a form of self-care.

We live in a world where money are important, and it’s hard to take care of yourself without having a little something to invest. But even when you’re working those long, hard days and making something of yourself, it’s important to remember to take care of yourself in the process.

These are my best self care tips for all my hard working women out there:

1. Go to the salon at least once every 2 weeks
Your brows and nails might seem like something you can do on your own. And it is. Buuuut taking yourself to get your eyebrows waxed or threaded and your nails manicured is such a nice thing to do. Plus, people notice if you always have amazing brows and well-done nails, and you will too! It’s a great confidence booster.
You’re out there working all day and you might as well take those 2 hours twice a month to just relax and be pampered a little. It’s self love and you deserve it!

2. Take your work out of the house/office once in a while
If you’re like me, you spend a lot of time in front of your computer or on your phone. I’m lucky that my job also takes me all over the city, but when I have to do office work, I like to take my laptop with me and go to a nice coffee shop instead of working from home. It’s a win-win because I’m so much more productive when I get out of the house as I dont get interrupted, plus I feel like I’m treating myself to a nice little “date” with myself. And good coffee just makes everything better.

3. Get a maid
I’m 28, single, live in a studio apartment and work full time. Surely, I could survive without a maid. It’s not like cleaning my place takes more than 1-2 hrs.
Buuuuuut NOTHING is better than the feeling of coming home after af long day at work, and your apartment is spotless. It’s so worth it.
If you’re working full time and live with someone or have a family, don’t even get me started on how much you deserve to have a maid to do the cleaning for you.
My cleaning lady comes 2-4 times per month, and in between I just make sure to keep the place as tidy as possible. It’s not a big investment, but living in a clean, neat space is everything.

4. Buy yourself something nice
Disclaimer: Don’t go overboard and become a shopaholic ;)
It doesn’t have to be big investments, but spoiling yourself with little treats once in a while is such a nice way of appreciating yourself and all our hard work.
I buy myself stuff like a new lipstick, flowers, coffee or treat myself to lunch almost on a daily basis. No, it’s not a great way to save money but it makes me feel good!

Yesterday I treated myself to these lovely items from Huda Beauty

5. Cancel plans
If you feel like you’re running on empty, it’s ok to cancel plans.
You don’t want to be the person other people can’t depend on (you know the type that ALWAYS cancels) but if you’re usually the type that never cancels, try doing it once in a while. Or take a personal day off from work. Your friends and employer will understand, and you will get some much needed rest and recovery.
